Well Golly That Tree Looks Pretty Weird- Open!

You wouldn't think it, really, upon a first glance at him - notwithstanding if you knew him at all because that was very much a dead giveaway, but maybe even then - but Miyu breathed the coast. Definitely the demon wasn't one to slot into the trope of typical beach blonde or surfer dude, possessing neither particularly light-coloured hair nor the ability to balance on a surfboard (though, to think of it, not that you really need to have any; you just kind of need to have a surfboard tucked under your arm-slash-propped against your shoulder all the time, huh?), however he reveled in the ocean like next second would be his dying breath. It was bad enough that one look at him would send any onlookers the wrong impression about his personality in general, misinterpreting already eerily real curling ram horns on the sides of his head and the sharp dark indigo lines jutting under both eyes plus the tapestry of those same marks extending entirely down his right arm to mean dark, bloodthirsty and one with the forces of eeebil [sic], much less would people think that this incredibly violent snarling demon like something as arguably menial as running from one side of a beach to the other just for the feeling of wind rushing in his face.

First impressions, you know. They mess you up really good and make it hard to look at a person the same way by sheer grace of opinions cemented too late to fix - you couldn't get the image of a demon whipping their head in your direction with a glare, blue eyes narrowed into an expression of sheer disgruntled hate, that transformed in a split second into an ecstatic cheesy grin of giddily enthused brightness out of your head. Even when Miyu wheeled around fully and engaged you into a laughing upbeat conversation all about how the prices were rising for pretty much everything recently but, aw well, as long as they still managed to make do, you still couldn't get the image of that hostile and furious monster out of your head. It clung to you as you scanned the full visage of Miyu's laughing face, his polite face affected in front of the more official people - as it turned out, Miyu's neutral expression was that of the greatest dispassionate caution as per the world crawling with dangerous negative influences at every corner and it took knowing a friend was there to bring his frown upside-down. It took someone a couple of times to get over the fact that Miyu had the hugest resting stink face that could possibly ever exist in the history of stink-faces - or else was a very serious contender - but there you had it. Miyu Fortis-Voluit, very scary abomination of mankind that really loved the beach and everything it entailed.

The coast wasn't quite the beach, true, but it was close enough. All in the air, breathtaking salt and all - what wasn't there to love about it? If you closed your eyes and ran randomly, aside from the texture of the ground you wouldn't even be able to tell! And as a matter of fact, hence went Miyu streaking a whirlwind of brunet like the majestic Flash. Too fast, too furious, and he kicked up quite a lot of dirt in his hooting ecstatically laughing wake. How did anyone find this much healthy interest in running like a headless chicken on a knockoff beach that wasn't even trying to be a beach but was used as a substitute for a beach by Miyu regardless? No one knew. Did he really find enjoyment out of doing this or else was he merely trying to fill up the void in his life left by endless disappointment and the lack of video games in this time period? No one knew that, either. What wasn't hard to know, though, was that he almost made his own imprint or at least left an indent in the bark of a certain very tall tree when he seemed to be very oblivious exactly to the fact that there was a tree in his path and it wasn't going to move for him. The entire tree shuddered from the impact.

Maybe it would look like the tree just randomly vibrated in response to Kirby's extended examination. Maybe this tree really was sentient. But in any case the illusion would be shattered in the next moment, in accordance to Miyu groaning rather loudly and peeling himself from it with a petulant, 'Ooooow!'

He loved the beach.
