The Avian Empire
General InformationA forward thinking society, the hierarchy is based on a pecking order of dominance and power. The Avian Empire is a society deeply intertwined with magic. Magic is what is used to bond the people together, establish leadership, and defend the territory they claim as their own. Often The Monarch or another Noble will perform Marriage ceremonies, bless children, and perform a number of other ceremonies for the people under their command. Made up mostly of Avimosum and their Soul-Mates, the society depends on the strict hierarchy to survive.

Head of Guard
Somewhat of a second in command, the Head of Guard acts under the orders of the Monarch and their Mate. They act as a military adviser to the Monarch, and in turn command the Royal Guard, and act as a General when in times of war.
Royal Guards
A step above being a soldier, the Royal Guard is an even mix of male and female, and almost always comprised of Advanced Avimosum. They are chosen after a strenuous screening ,and once chosen undergo intense training. They are treated with a large amount of respect due to this.
Traditions & Customs
The different classes of the Empire are divided by Common Avimosum, Advanced Avimosum, and Nobles. Other species are often counted as the type of Avimosum that their Soul-Mate falls under, but otherwise are considered Common Avimosum. Despite rank, All members of the Empire treat each other with respect. Owing to the fact that the society is mainly Avimosum, It is considered disrespectful to hold someone's eyes who's power outranks you. The bearing of the neck is also a sigh of respect often shown to Nobles and Elders, which are the oldest and wisest members of the society.
Soul-Mates are a precious subject for the society as a whole, and the bond is one that the society is built upon. The bond between an Avimosum and their Soul Mate is sealed when both willingly consent to a bonding ceremony conducted by the Monarch. It is a relatively short ceremony, but one that holds great importance. First, each will offer three gifts to their partner, and exchange personal vows. Then, the Monarch will recite the ceremonial vows, which will knit the souls of the two together, completing the bond.
The ceremony is considered sacred, and all who live within the society are impressed upon it's importance.
Avimosum have difficulty reproducing, most likely owing to their long life-span. When they do have children, It is celebrated immensely by the immediant family and others around them. The Monarch meets every child born to the Empire, and performs a simple ceremony that gives them their rank within the society. This is considered a monumental point within someone's life, as their whole life will be determined by the choice of the Monarch.
